I really wanted to like this product. I bought this for my 10 year old sister and although she thinks is absolutely adorable, the lock is cheap. I mean so cheap! The metal, or whatever the heck the material was for the key literally bends between your fingers. We tried to put it inside the lock and it just turned until it twisted. And to make it worse, the lock wouldn't even close! Don't get me wrong, this is an adorable little diary, but for the price, I should have gotten one that was better quality. I saw diaries at 5 Below this weekend that had more durability than this diary, and they were only $3. Highly disappointed with this product.
the diary is great, and it would have been better if we had gotten it before Christmas, like we were supposed to. My daughter had to wait for her present. Over all she likes the diary, and had fun decorating it.
This is a cute idea for a little girl's diary. Being able to decorate the book is a huge bonus. It makes a little girl excited about writing in the book that is very much their own after decorating. There is an ample amount of stickers and ribbons for decorating. The lock is sturdy. It appears to be a good quality book, and so far is holding together very well. This is a great way to encourage a young person to write more. Great gift idea!
My niece is 10 and loves to write in journals, so this is perfect plus she gets to customize it.
